Important Information for Both Types of Preservation

We want your keepsake to be as beautiful and lasting as possible. Please read the following carefully to understand how your flowers and resin pieces will look and age over time.

Flower Behavior in Preservation

Natural Drying Process:
Flowers in the Floral Block will dry in the exact shape and form they were bound by the florist and how they arrived to us.

If there is petal loss, we can attempt to rebuild some flowers or supplement with inventory flowers (additional fee applies).

Older or air-dried flowers may appear more enclosed or “bulb-like” with curled edges compared to freshly opened blooms.

Color Changes:
Not all flowers preserve the same. While the arrangement will still reflect your original bouquet, expect natural color changes as flowers dry.

Red roses → Burgundy

White flowers → Ivory

Hot pink flowers → Purple

Hydrangeas → Often lose their shape entirely

Some petals may develop translucent spots caused by bruising when fresh.

Even with Color Restoration, damaged flowers may not fully hold color evenly. Both pressed and resin pieces can display bruising, uneven tones, or slight translucency.

Resin Encapsulation Details

Smaller Keepsakes:
Our mini items (e.g., wine stoppers, ring diamonds, lucky charms) do not undergo color-enhancing before being encased in resin. They are preserved in their natural state.

Variations in Each Piece:
Every resin piece is handmade and one-of-a-kind.

Flowers are treated through our Flower Beautification Process before encapsulation.

Some fading over time is natural, especially if the original flowers were dyed or painted, which may bleed within the resin.

Bubbles & Texture:
Small air pockets and bubbles are a normal part of the resin curing process and add to the uniqueness of each piece.

Resin Aging and Yellowing

All epoxy resin will naturally yellow over time. While we use state-of-the-art resins with UV inhibitors, there are factors that can speed up this process:

Direct sunlight exposure

Lack of airflow (e.g., keeping it boxed for long periods)

Extreme temperature changes

Ambering over time is expected.
To slow this process:

Avoid placing in direct sunlight

Do not leave boxed for more than two weeks

Keep away from heat sources and temperature fluctuations

To diffuse the look of Ambering add a color to the piece

Sizing & Thickness Guidelines

Floral block thickness varies between 1–3 inches, depending on the flowers.

Larger flowers are not suitable for blocks that are only 1–2 inches thick.

Warnings & Disclaimers

General Disclaimer

Fossil Flowers  not responsible for any damage to the product, persons, or property caused by misuse or use outside suggested guidelines.

Display & Stability

Some pieces are designed to lay flat and may not stand upright without support:

6” letters (Q, U, O, P, S, D, G, J, C, V)

4", 6", & 9" circles

7" Side Tilt Heart

Rubber feet may help with certain display positions but are not guaranteed.

Important Safety Note:
Keep pieces out of reach of children and pets, as tipping or falling may cause injury or damage.

Tray & Vanity Tray Guidelines

Our trays are decorative display pieces only and NOT functional trays for carrying.

Do NOT carry trays by the handles — they are decorative and cannot support the weight of floral blocks.

Damage caused by improper handling cannot be repaired or replaced.

Avoid placing items heavier than ½ pound on top of resin to prevent scarring or permanent imprints.
